dear all,

just found out that last month one of our friends from "across the pond" passed away.

The Roadtrippers of DfH met Mark J Pero in 2007 and 2008 at Petit and Sebring, where we had some good times (and Yuengling :) )

We knew from 2009 onwards he was ill, diagnosed with ALS. He could not visit races anymore but watched from TV and on and off a mail went back and forth...

one of his mails in 2009 stated:

"My ALS (also known as "motor neuron" disease) continues to worsen as expected. There is no cure and it progresses fairly quickly in most. With me, it is a bit slower. The median life expectancy is 3 years. I can no longer walk, my arms remain strong, but I am now worried about my hands. Heck! How am I supposed to hold a beer?"

a next one:
"Don't worry about me! I'm going to live a helluva lot longer than 3 years! With good beer flowing in my veins, I'm not going anywhere! (I'll drink to that!)"

it was not to be, he passed away March 29th 2011

condolences to his family and friends... we will Drink for him at Le Mans, Laguna Seca and Petit Le Mans.

R.I.P mark. I (we) had some good times with you. It allready was a loss that you weren't able to visit any races. I know you will have the best seats for all the races that will follow....

I'll drink on you my mate, will miss you.
