From www.speedtv.com.

For the first time since 2002, Audi will field three factory cars in the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 16-17.

DTM regulars Lucas Luhr, Mike Rockenfeller and Alex Premat were named as pilots for a third diesel-powered Audi R10 TDI, which will join the full-time ALMS efforts of Allan McNish/Dindo Capello, with Tom Kristensen added as third driver, and Marco Werner/Emanuelle Pirro, where Frank Biele will be the third man. Former DTM champ Mattias Ekstrom will be on stand-by in case seven-time Le Mans winner Kristensen is deemed unfit to drive – the Dane continues to recover from a crash sustained in the DTM opener at Hockenheim last month.

"By fielding a third car, we are increasing our chances of again being successful,â€

We don't think that the Peugeots will last the race. LMP2 has no chance whatsoever on a track like Le Mans, to many high speed straights. No contenders besides Audi for the win. I do hope Kristensen can drive, would be nice for him and all the Danish fans who come to watch the race.

The Le Mans entry list is official! No more reserve cars to be called-up in case one of the 55 selected entries is a no-go from now on.

Bit of good news for you folks .

Cytasport , who run a Lola B06/10 AER in the ALMS have bought the Charouz Lola B07/10 Judd and plan to run in the LMS up until Le Mans . The drivers will be Graff-Picket ..... They are hoping to get an invite to the biggy itself where they will be joined by JAN LAMMERS .....

Brilliant news and great to see an American team showing an interest in the LMS for a change .

So , ye got another driver to scream for in a great sounding car too !!!

Hm, the car was pretty fast last year, but I'm not sure the team will qualify for an invite. Maybe the fact that Lammers will be among them will make some sort of difference.

Yeah ..... i see your point Peiter .

On Aysedasi forum , some are saying that because Cytosports plan ends with Le Mans , they shouldnt get an entry for LMS .

I think that there has been enough Europeans doing races in the states , give the Yanks a bash in Europe for a change . WHo knows , it might turn out to be differant .

Anyway ..... great to see Lammers in a qiuck car again .

I only got 1 Irish driver to shout for ..... Kane ..... maybe I can be an honorary Dutchy for the weekend , like duel nationality , especially as Im planning on showing up at your party on the friday night .

But being Irish ..... im not really keen on orange .... lol

They have pulled the chassis out of Sebring . That might not do their case so well when it comes to asking for an invite for the biggy .

I guess they pulled it out to show they are serious about doing the Le Mans Series (and by doing that showing their interest in the 24 Hours).

Looks like Cytosport didnt get their LMS entry . Maybe they can get an entry on a race by race deal . They certainly have a great car as shown by Charouz last year , but Im not sure if an American team will base a car and crew in Europe for a "possible" LMS race , especially since they now dont have a Le Mans invitation ?

Wonder where we will see Lammers for Le Mans now ..... possibily with Dome ?

Well, they might just try to do le mans only with this car. LMS entry is not strictly necesarry in that case.

Just looked it up on planetlemans.com, there is the answer:
Quote:
The Charouz Lola-Aston will be driven by Charouz and Muecke (Where’s Enge you might wonder? Answer two paragraphs below), clearly the second (Cytosport) car is not listed as a full season entry since it should go to the ALMS after June.

Without doing any LMS or ALMS before Le Mans, they'll have a tough job getting an invite.

They must get 1 or 2 races in before Le Mans ..... the only thing going for the team is that the chassis is a quick and well proven machine ..... but ya never know !!!

There are some strange things on that list ;)

No WR (Welter Racing)!
Two Spykers confirmed, a third one on the reserve list (although in 6th place)
One Lamborghini confirmed, a second one on the reserve list
Team Essex on Michelins...whereas they are on Dunlops in the LMS.
Vitaphone Racing is on the list...with a DBR9!

Complete list can be found here (click).

LMP1; looks exciting with 3 Audis, 3 Peugeots, 3 Pescarolos and 4 Courages. I hope the petrol engined cars can compete against the diesels.
LMP2; normally I never really follow this class but I'm quite curious about the Porsches under ACO rules.
GT1; exciting cars again, fierce battle to be expected. Let's hope the Lambo will last a little longer this year.
GT2; wtf? Ferrari has 8 cars on the list, and will race against 3 Porsches and 2 Spykers. No Panoz, shame :erm:

Honestly, I don't expect a lot from Dome this year. Let them screw it up big time, so Jan will have a car for next year! ;)

Dome already screwed up last year didn't they? Meaning: they screwed some pieces of carbon and metal onto some ancient S101 to make it comply with all the rules, and at the same time making it totally useless to go for any good results :|

No Panoz
